on the business of banking under the provisions and conditions

contained in the Principal Ordinance as hereby amended for

the further term of 21 years commencing from and including

the 14th day of August 1908.

All the provisions of Section 3 of the Hongkong and

Shanghai Banking Corporation Ordinance 1899 are hereby continued for the following further period, namely from and

including the 14th day of August 1908 to and including the

13th day of August 1929; Provided nevertheless that nothing

herein contained shall exempt the Company from the operation

of any existing or future laws restricting or regulating the

issue of bills or notes in the Colony or in any place outside

the Colony where the Company has or may hereafter establish

banks or branch banks.

This Ordinance shall not come into operation unless and

until the Governor notifies by Proclamation that it is His

Majesty's pleasure not to disallow the same and thereafter it

shall come into operation upon such day as the Governor shall

notify by the same or any other Proclamation.
